Young People Just Don't Vote

Some things never change. I went back in time and read a few news clips. A 1930's article in a local newspaper who surveyed people door-to-door quoted, "Some of the community's young people say they don't vote because they don't know what it's all about." In 1952, a young soldier returning from war wrote, "A lot of people as young as me don't vote..." The voting law was change in 1971 from 21 to 18 years old. Some of these new kids vote, but the trend is the same, young people just don't vote. In 1980, another article wrote, "the reason these people don't vote are different... but when young voters don't vote..." and again, a 1996 Headline, "Voting Among the Young Probably The Lowest Ever." A 2008 headline wrote, "The Young Don't Vote." Do young people vote in Hamilton County? Nope. The last two elections were typical, Young People Just Don't Vote.
