As part of our ongoing effort to educate voters, the Fiscal Conservatives of Hamilton County are pleased to announce they will host a candidate forum for all 10 of the HSE school board candidates in the upcoming general election held on November 6, 2018. After hosting successful candidate forums last year for the open Senate District 20 seat and this year for the Hamilton County Sheriff primary contest we felt we could help bring our expertise to bear on this all important local election.

In this highly partisan political climate, it is important to remember that the school board is, by design, an non-partisan election. Candidates do not participate in the party primaries and are not required to identify themselves as democrats, republicans nor libertarians though many do self identify as such. We feel it is imperative that voters be as informed as possible regarding every candidate that appears on their ballot. The annual budget for 2019 submitted for HSE Schools was $242 million and it will be voted on by the current board before the upcoming election but should be a subject of conversation by the candidates. As context, the recent Fishers City 2019 budget submitted was $102 million. This is why we need to educate the public so they can make the an informed decision on this most important government body.

The event will be held at Ji-Eun Lee Music Academy (map) at 6 pm on Tuesday night October 23rd, 2018. The event will be moderated by current HSE school board member John Delucia with questions sent to us from the public. If you have a question you would like asked at this event please submit it to fcohcindiana@gmail.com no later than October 18. Candidates
